LFA provides training to a Senior Program Officer of TCWF in applied statistical analysis for research and evaluation purposes using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).
The California Wellness Foundation has hired LFA to assess the feasibility and benefits of an ongoing assessment of the health of California’s health nonprofits. This study aims to answer the question of whether an ongoing process of studying the health of health nonprofits would add unique value and contribute useful information to the health nonprofit community, their investors, policymakers, and other key constituent groups. The assessment will explore the strengths and limitations of existing knowledge about health nonprofits; the level of interest among key stakeholders in a set of information about the health of nonprofits that would be updated on a regular basis; what would be the most appropriate methods for conducting ongoing assessments; and the level of resources that the ongoing assessment process would require.
TCWF hired LFA to develop a tool for Program Directors to use in their due diligence process. This tool will assist Program Directors to collect meaningful and consistent organizational information on prospective grantees. Program Directors will use the information gathered with this tool to make decisions about whether a potential grantee might benefit from a core operating grant or other capacity-building support.
