New Leaf Outreach to Elders hired LFA to conduct an evaluation of their Geriatric Mental Health Program (GMHP) in order to assess the achievement of process and outcome objectives established for the GMHP and to document for dissemination and potential replication the approach as a model of LGBT elder service delivery. The purpose of the GMHP is to expand the existing senior support program at New Leaf by integrating mental health services that address specific needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender elderly community of San Francisco. There are three primary components to NLOE’s evaluation design: analysis of GMHP client outcome data; administration and analysis of a client satisfaction survey; and a “case study” of the NLOE/GMHP model for documentation and dissemination purposes.
